The unique atmosphere of Saint-Nicolas de Véroce inspired thecreation of a nature-friendly 5* chalet-hotel, designed to be a homeaway from home. Nestled in the heart of the village, the property wasbuilt by local architect, Gilles Grandjacques. This authentic Saint-Nicolatain, whose parents were the former owners of the site, workedwith traditional materials (granite from Mont-Blanc, wooden tilesand slate) to perfectly integrate the surrounding environment. The opening of the bakery/tea room gave local residents and visitors alike the chance to sample bread, pastries and home-made viennoiseries made by our head baker.

LA NAUVE, HÔTEL ET JARDIN

Former Cognac distillery, the property has been completely renovated by local craftsmen, orchestrated by architect Éric Daigre, a local figure and connoisseur of the Charentes region. He sourced the finest materials and craftsmen within a 50km radius. Among the materials used at La Nauve that are emblematic of the region, white Avy stone has pride of place. It is used throughout the house. Woodwork, another favourite material, is equally precious and remarkable in every room of the house, whether in the communal areas or in the bedrooms. The final strong point of La Nauve is the metalwork by a local wrought-iron craftsman and the Italian glassware.
